My 7yr old Daughter and I hit the range with our .22's twice a month, Usually on Sundays after church.
Because the Piney woods group won't accept kids till they are 12, I am posting this to see if there are any other Dad's out there with kids under 12 that would be interested in meeting up with us to form a regular rimfire meet. Nothing official, and nothing high pressure, but more of a time set up for the kids to become more familiar with range rules, etiquette, and the firearms themselves.

If enough folks are interested, and the kids enjoy it, I wouldn't mind coming up with a standard target and distance for a strictly informal competition.

Great to see someone that knows the importance of following the range rules and etiquette.
There are so many that don't know, have forgotten or the worst ones are the ones that don't care.(ignorance, complacent, apathetic)
I did not get to learn gun safety until I was in my early 20s and was an accident waiting to happen! Thankfully I was introduced to some NRA members that are/were
(some are now deceased) serious about gun safety and taught me well.
The Obama panic has created a large group of new gun owners that have a clue (like I was) about safe handling of firearms. I wish the gun media would focus on the rules of safe gun handling in every edition of magazines and TV shows.

Gun accidents give ammunition to the anti gun forces to use against us.(pun intended)
