ETRPC USPSA DIVISION CONTACT PERSON: Ed Shadbolt Need registration form for familiarization class USPSA: United States Practical Shooting Association There is a 4 hour class offered, the 4th Saturday of the month to familiarize new shooters with the rules and procedures for shooing a USPSA MATCH. The new shooters will be able to shoot a stage in order to learn the commands, clearing the weapon and safety procedures. One can go online to USPSA.ORG and double click on the HOME PAGE and then click on USPSA VIEDO and watch videos of different shooters shooting stages. Weapons: There are different classifications for shooters to shoot in. They are as follows: OPEN CLASS: A shooter can use a handgun with a compensator and optic sights. Usually either 9MM or 38 Super Calibers. Mags can be up to 30 rounds. LIMITED 10 CLASS: Usually 9MM to 45 Cal with iron sights. Can use mags with 20 rounds. LIMITED 20 CLASS: Same as limited expect the shooter is limited to only 10 rounds in the magazine. SINGLE STACK CLASS: Usually shoot with a 1911 style gun limited to 7 or 8 round magazines. PRODUCATION CLASS: Can be shot with a handgun, must be on USPSA approved list and is limited to 10 rounds. The above classes of weapons gives the shooter a choice of a stock off the shelf gun to high price gun. Whatever class you decide to shoot in you will enjoy the experience and fellowship with other shooters who will help you learn to shoot this sport and watch your gun handling skills and shooting skills improve. |
