SAFETY NOTICE REGARDING SIG SAUER P320 PISTOLS

Dear Members,
As part of our ongoing commitment to range safety, the East Texas Rifle & Pistol Club is issuing the following advisory regarding the Sig Sauer P320 pistol platform.
There have been multiple reports and legal claims across the country alleging that certain models of the Sig Sauer P320 may discharge without the trigger being pulled, particularly during holstering or if dropped. While Sig Sauer has implemented a voluntary upgrade program and maintains that the P320 meets safety standards, the risk of unintentional discharge remains a concern in the shooting community.
Effective Immediately:
1. Unmodified Sig Sauer P320 pistols are not permitted on club property. Only P320s that have received Sig Sauer’s factory upgrade may be used. Exceptions my apply by certain organizations completely banning the use of the P320 in certain match applications. Check with the Match Directors for more information.
2. Proof of upgrade may be required upon request by a club Range Safety Officer (RSO).
3. All P320 users must use a holster with full trigger guard coverage and secure retention when carrying or drawing from the holster.
4. Remember to always keep the muzzle pointed down range and never point the muzzle toward yourself or others.
5. Members are encouraged to handle the P320 with extra care, especially when holstering or re-holstering, and to keep fingers and objects always clear of the trigger area.
6. The Club assumes no liability for any incidents involving the Sig Sauer P320. Use of this platform is at your own risk.
We are not banning the P320, but we strongly recommend that members stay informed of all recalls, manufacturer updates, and legal developments concerning this firearm.
For more information on Sig Sauer’s upgrade program, visit:

You can see if your P320 needs the upgrade at this link by inputting your serial number in the designated location.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping maintain a safe environment for all shooters.

Sincerely,
Tommie Deese
