This is the match page for the February 2024 PCSL 1 Gun Match at ETRPC (East Texas Rifle & Pistol Club). Join us for an exciting time shooting our very first PCSL match. Match sign in will begin at 8am with the shooters meeting and squadding at 8:45 and hammer down at 9am.
We will be shooting 6 stages and round count will not exceed 150 rounds, though it would be wise to bring extra ammo in the event of a reshoot.
If you are new to competitive shooting or PCSL, and because PCSL is a young sport, here is a quick break down of what it is and what you can expect.
There will be a total of 5 shooting divisions to choose from based on the gun and gear that you want to use. If you already shoot another action shooting sport such as USPSA you will see some crossover as well as some differences.
Here is a quick overview of each division.
Competition (COMP)
(If you shoot USPSA, this would be where your Open and Limited type of guns belong)
This division is basically for any pistol with a compensator, brake, or barrel porting.
—A note for this club, there will be MAJOR & MINOR Power Factor for THIS division only—
Note that Optics are allowed but not required, and Frame mounted optics are allowed here.
Practical Optics (PO)
(If you shoot USPSA, this would be where your Carry Optics & Limited Optics guns would go)
Guns must have a slide-mounted optic in PO.
Mag capacity limit is 21+1.
Magwells and gas pedals are allowed.
No compensators or porting. Division will be changed to COMP if present.
Practical Irons (PI)
(If you shoot USPSA, this would be basically Production division, just brought up to speed with the modern era with ammo capacity at 21 rounds instead of 10 or 15)
Same rules as Practical Optics, but Iron sights only. No Optics.
Actual Carry Pistol (ACP) -Provisional PCSL Division-
If all you have is your carry gun and holster, or you want to practice or shoot more with your carry gun, then this is your division. The Division is basically built around a Glock 19 size gun and has a capacity limit of 15 rounds.
Guns must fit in the same box used for IDPA’s CCP division. Glock 19 and Staccato C2 sized guns and smaller.
Guns with optics that do not fit in the box are allowed if they would fit in the box without the optic mounted.
Optics and/or Iron sights are allow in ACP
Mag capacity limit: 15+1
—For this match ACP shooters will be allowed to use either their IWB carry rig or their OWB concealed carry rig—
Concealment is not required in this division.
Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC)
(This division is where the guys who shoot rifles at pistol matches go. Pistol caliber carbine is a rifle chambered in a pistol caliber such as 9mm)
Coupled (side-by-side) magazines are prohibited
Bipods and bags are prohibited
Pistol braced carbines allowed
—For the time being we ask that you not use your suppressor. Even though they are totally awesome it is already hard for the timer to pick up the sound from some of these PCC’s and we want to try to avoid re-shoots as much as possible to help with match flow and to not waste your ammo, and this is one thing that we think will help.—
We Strongly suggest that you read the rules for yourself. Links for both the General rule book and the Pistol/One gun division rule books are down below. There you will find all the details for the divisions, just note the specific club edits made here.
